100-rep-challenge The Hardest Workout In The World - Part II

The Hardest Workout In The World - Part II

What is it about the human animal that makes us want to push our limits? Are we gluttons for punishment? Let’s take a look at MORE brutal workouts and see if we can determine: What is the hardest workout in the world? Let’s get into this…

I want to say that “humans” are dumb…

But the fact is - it’s the male of our species - that really seems to be thick-headed.

I mean…

We’re stupid.

We do stupid s**t…

Especially with an audience of our stupid friends around - and often this stupidity - is accompanied by pain and/or humiliation.

All in the pursuit of glory… or cash.

That being said - I revel in my stupidity…

I can’t deny it. Like the time I bet my buddies I could jump my bike over any ramp - propped a piece of plywood against a rock - and wound up ass over teakettle with pieces of road in my upper lip.

I made the second attempt though…

And it’s in that spirit that I’ve been pursuing more adult themed stupidity.

But…

How does a grown-ass adult find ways to stupidly chase glory?

Through finding the most BRUTAL workouts I can find…

And giving them whirl.

A little while ago - I introduced you to German Volume Training (well, some of you already knew about it) - where you do 10 sets of 10 reps at 60% of your one rep max (read that article here)...

And while that’s a workout I’ve done - it got me thinking…

We’re there any other training regiments that could put GVT to shame?

Well, apparently there is…

What's The HARDEST Workout In The World?

So, let’s talk about a workout that may leave GVT in the dust…

The legendary 100 Rep Challenge.

Imagine performing 100 reps of - squats, bench press, deadlifts, pull-ups, overhead press, and rows…

Now, what did you picture? 10 sets of 10? Like GVT?

Because with the 100 Rep Challenge - we're not stopping at a mere 10 reps - oh no…

We're going for the crazy goal of 5 sets of 20 reps.

Now, a few people are thinking - “That’s not hard! I can do that in my sleep.”

And to them I say this:

Try it.

Pick a starting weight that matches your bodyweight for squats and bodyweight multiplied by 1.25 for deadlifts. For bench press and shoulder presses - use 65-70% of your 1RM for bench and 60% for the shoulder presses…

For pull ups - you’re actually going to “cheat” and use a band - or else you won’t even get CLOSE to finishing.

Your mission - should you choose to accept it - is to complete all 100 reps in as few sets as humanly possible.

Pump out as many reps as you can in one go and then take a well-deserved 2-3 minute rest.

Remember, the fewer sets you conquer this beast in - the more tokens your dear old Mom will bestow upon you at Chuck E Cheese…

Who needs legs for Skeeball anyway, amirite?

Not Hard ENOUGH?

Oh, I get it…

This doesn’t sound hard to you.

Aiigh, Mr. Fancypants…

You really want to push your boundaries?

You want to puke your f@#king guts out before you leave the gym?

Aiight…

How about trying Armageddon?

You wanted the worst?

Well, you’ve got it…

This workout that will drag you straight to hell and back.

Brace yourself for a thousand reps of arm annihilation.

Yup, you heard that right - a thousand f@#king reps!

This workout is all about variation and hitting sets of 20 reps across 10 different exercises - 5 for biceps and 5 for triceps.

No room for monotony here…

You're free to explore a range of equipment like EZ-bars, barbells, dumbbells, cable machines and even machines - embrace the diversity!

For instance - you could do 5 sets of 20 reps of EZ-bar reverse curls - followed by skull crushers - preacher curls - tricep rope pushdowns - low cable curls - tricep kickbacks - wide grip EZ-bar curls - and then finish it off with the Tate Press.

Phew, I'm exhausted just WRITING that!

Take a well-deserved 2-minute rest between each set - and pack a lunch - cause you’re going to be there for a while.

This grueling session will definitely feel like an eternity - but if you're seeking an ultimate challenge to take your arms to the next level - this is it.

It's a battle of endurance and sheer determination…

Remember to choose your favorite bicep and tricep exercises - perform 5 sets of 20 reps for each - and pray to the Lord above for the strength to finish.

Do You Have The HUEVOS?

Alright, you’ve talked a big game…

But can you back it up?

Did you even try GVT?

Are you willing to step it up a notch and try the 100 Rep Challenge?

Even more..

Or…

Are you ????
